This month, we saw national media interest in Dr Kate Levett’s PhD research results and paper Complementary therapies for labour and birth study: a randomised controlled trial of antenatal integrative medicine for pain management in labour, which was published in BMJ Open.

Americans spent $30.2 billion―$28.3 billion for adults and $1.9 billion for children—out-of-pocket on complementary health approaches, according to a US nationwide survey. These findings come from an analysis by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
