Dr Philip Norrie is a family doctor and researcher with a focus on preventative medicine using Reservatrol Enhanced Wine and showing the role of infectious diseases on the demise of ancient civilisations. He joined NICM in 2017 as an adjunct research fellow and brings a wealth of experience from his many years of research and practice.

In 1971, Dr Norrie began his medical studies at the University of New South Wales, where he trained and did his internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. After gaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Dr Norrie was awarded an Australian Family Planning Association Certificate in 1980 and established his own solo family/general practice surgery in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

He is also a conjoint senior lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales and the University of Newcastle, the vice-chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Northern Cancer Institute in Sydney and a fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales.

Dr Norrie has published 17 books about wine and medical history.
