3 April 2017 NICM welcomes two philanthropic gifts totalling $10 million – the largest in the University’s history. The Blackmore Foundation, Marcus and Caroline Blackmore's personal philanthropic trust, and Australian natural health company Blackmores, are each gifting $5 million to the University.
31 March 2017 The Chinese Medicine Board of Australia has appointed four new members to its Chinese Medicine Reference Group. NICM congratulate the new members, which include Dr Carolyn Ee, Ms Geraldine Robinson, Mr Kevin Ryan and Ms Dina Tsiopelas.
24 March 2017 NICM and UNSW researchers are investigating in a pilot clinical trial if acupuncture is effective in treating the symptoms of endometriosis, a gynaecological disease that causes pain and/or infertility and affects an estimated 176 million women worldwide.
21 March 2017 The Government’s National Science Statement was released today during Science meets Parliament by the Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science Senator the Hon Arthur Sinodinos. The statement sets a long-term approach to science, providing guidance for government investment and decision making and clarity on strategic aims.
16 March 2017 We are delighted Professor Jerome Sarris commenced his role this year with NICM as our new Deputy Director, a role critical in fulfilling our Institute's mission. In his first few months, Professor Sarris has met with many of NICM's stakeholders from academics, government, industry, associations and the healthcare sector.
10 March 2017 NICM Researchers, students and staff today participated in "March into Yellow" - a day designed to bring awareness to endometriosis. March into Yellow is a worldwide event supported by Endometriosis Australia.
3 March 2017 A profession-specific annual report summary that looks into the work of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia over the year to 30 June 2016 has been published. The report draws on data from the 2015/16 annual report by AHPRA and the National Boards.

Next year marks a historical occasion for NICM, celebrating its 10 year anniversary and a year of further growth and development for the Institute.
30 November 2016 NICM is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Carolyn Ee as the Jacka Foundation Senior Research Fellow. Professor Alan Bensoussan, NICM Director said the newly created position will help increase the integration of well-evidenced complementary medicine into routine healthcare with formal collaborations with hospitals and health centres.
